Frequently Asked Questions

Within the legal scope of the PT2 authorization, Oxiline-50 may be used for:
• Cleaning irrigation and drainage systems;
• Preventing biofilm formation in pipes and hoses;
• Disinfecting surfaces and equipment in technical rooms, workspaces, and greenhouse infrastructure.
Note: The product must not come into direct contact with crops and may not be used as a plant disease control agent.

No. Oxiline-50 is a biocide, not a plant protection product. It may not be applied or promoted as a treatment for specific plant pathogens. Such applications fall under plant protection legislation (PPP) and require a separate authorization.

Biocide authorizations are based on intended use (e.g., general hygiene), not the specific location. According to the Dutch Board for the Authorization of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (Ctgb) and Glastuinbouw Nederland, it is not required for the term “greenhouse horticulture” to appear in the authorization text, as long as the use falls within the legal PT2 framework (e.g., disinfection of piping or surfaces).

Oxiline-50 supports a hygienic and properly functioning water system. It helps prevent biofilm formation and contributes to a stable growing environment. A clean irrigation system is essential for optimal uptake of water and nutrients.
